The Grand Duke of Luxembourg, Henri, visited the Casablanca Memory Museum – Villa Karl Vick yesterday, Thursday, accompanied by Mehdi Qatbi, the president of the National Museum Foundation.

On this occasion, the Grand Duke expressed his commitment, during each visit to Morocco, to discover its cultural landmarks. He conveyed his admiration for this museum, which documents the history of Casablanca since the beginning of the last century through architecture and art.

He also stated that this major city, which is constantly evolving, has gone through several transformations, noting that culture is an important means to discover any country.

For his part, the president of the National Museum Foundation affirmed in a similar statement that this visit highlights Morocco’s cultural radiance on the international level, shedding light on the dynamic initiated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which has facilitated the emergence of numerous museums across the kingdom.

Qatbi pointed out that Morocco, thanks to the royal vision, has today become a regional model to emulate in the field of innovative and attractive cultural approaches.

It is worth mentioning that the “Villa Karl Vick,” constructed in 1913, is a testament to the architectural and urban development of Casablanca. Over the decades, this building has played several roles before being rehabilitated to become a museum.
