On Wednesday morning, the renowned Syrian journalist Sobhi Atre passed away at the age of 42 due to a sudden heart attack, as confirmed by various Arab media reports.
The news has caused significant shock within the Arab media and artistic communities, considering the brilliant career that the late journalist had, marked by a distinguished presence in the field of entertainment journalism over the years.
The Karizma Media Group and the team from “ET Bil Arabi” mourned their colleague with great sadness, expressing their shock at his loss. Many of Sobhi Atre’s colleagues and fans also shared their profound sorrow on social media.
Born in Aleppo, he steadily made his way into journalism and media before transitioning to television, becoming one of the prominent faces on several major channels, including Rotana Khalejia and MBC, which embraced him as a host and correspondent for many years.
Throughout the years, Sobhi Atre hosted the show “ET Bil Arabi” alongside Moroccan journalist Mariam Said. He was also keen on covering various events in Morocco, including the annual “Mawazine… Rhythms of the World” festival, which he attended regularly.
The late journalist was known for his balanced professional style and distinctive interviews with major stars from both the Arab and Western worlds, accumulating significant television experience throughout his career.
His last official appearance was on the program “Mina wa Fina,” hosted by Heba Haidari and aired on the “Al-Mashhad” channel, serving as a final farewell to his fans and colleagues.
