This took place during an extraordinary general assembly presided over by the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation, represented by its delegate, Mr. Abdellah Wadhghiri, in the presence of a representative from the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports, alongside a local authority representative.

The assembly was held in the exhibition hall of the Mohammed Zefzaf Cultural Complex in Anfa, Casablanca, and commenced at 4:30 PM, attracting significant attendance from numerous media representatives.

During the meeting, 44 associations and sports clubs attended out of a total of 61, alongside 4 representatives from monitoring associations out of 12, accompanied by their technical staff. Mr. Abdellah Wadhghiri opened the assembly with a welcoming address, thanking attendees for their participation and praising the spirit of commitment and responsibility. He confirmed that the federation’s office received a single list within the legal deadlines, headed by Mr. Mustafa Melouki, which allowed for an immediate move to the voting phase following the confirmation of a quorum. He was unanimously elected as the new president of the league for a term of four years.

The federation representative emphasized that this phase will be accompanied by intensive efforts to create an appropriate framework for training and guidance for coaches and administrators, alongside programming educational days and organizing major sporting events in line with the current stage’s needs.

In a brief statement following his election, Mr. Mustafa Melouki expressed his profound gratitude to all members of the league for their trust, which he saw as a mandate rather than an honor. He affirmed his intention to work with a participatory approach aimed at advancing the sport of boxing in the region, prioritizing the establishment of partnership agreements with councils and institutions, and opening new avenues for financing activities while developing clubs in complete coordination with the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation.

Melouki also highlighted the importance of integrating administrative and technical competencies within the new office committees to foster genuine dynamics in management. He stressed the necessity of initiating the handover of tasks and logistics with the former president, Mr. Said Adhoura, under the federation’s supervision.

Meanwhile, the representative from the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education, and Sports commended the assembly’s excellent organization and the spirit of commitment and discipline that characterized the meeting, considering these conditions a promising foundation for a strong start to boxing in the region.
