Postponement of May Session in Kenitra Municipality Due to Lack of Quorum

The regular session scheduled for May in the Kenitra Municipality, which was set for today, Wednesday, has been postponed after the council failed to convene its inaugural meeting due to a lack of quorum.

“Express TV” has learned that several council members were absent, preventing the session from commencing according to the regulatory provisions that require a majority of members to be present.

According to sources within the council, the absences, which included members from both the opposition and majority factions, occur amid ongoing internal tensions that have plagued the council for months, accompanied by accusations of obstructing the normal functioning of municipal affairs.

A second session is expected to be held on Monday, in accordance with legal stipulations. The Kenitra Municipality has recently experienced a tug-of-war between majority and opposition members, negatively impacting several issues related to local governance.
