Kénitra Club Faces Financial Pressures and Inconsistent Results… Calls for Solidarity and Unity to Support “KAC”
Kénitra Football Club is currently experiencing a critical phase both financially and athletically, as financial difficulties have clearly impacted the team’s performance and inconsistent results in the second division championship.
The club’s return to competition last season after coming up from the amateur ranks provided an opportunity to reorganize internally and reclaim its place among Morocco’s clubs. However, accumulated debts exceeding one and a half million dirhams from previous administrations, which plunged the club into a swamp of debts and disputes, coupled with delays in receiving public funding from the local council and both regional and provincial authorities, have directly affected the club’s management capabilities and its financial commitments to players and staff.
Despite the current administration, led by Hakim Doumou, successfully settling approximately 80% of the outstanding debts, the ongoing financial crisis places the team under increasing pressure, which is reflected in the team’s atmosphere and results in the league.
The crisis has also affected the club’s environment, with some fans choosing to boycott matches, while others have raised slogans demanding a change in management. Furthermore, some agitators resorted to slandering the management through anonymous pages and accounts, creating additional pressures on the players from the club’s surrounding environment and attempts to interfere in management affairs, complicating the situation within the team.
Observers of the sports scene believe that the current phase requires a high degree of responsibility and solidarity from all parties, warning that the persistence of internal conflicts and underhanded policies will only exacerbate the crisis.
Sports stakeholders in the city agree on the necessity for collective mobilization to save the club, starting with responsible fan support to rejuvenate the stands, followed by interventions from local authorities to find urgent financial solutions, and culminating in the involvement of businessmen and investors to support the team, recognizing it as a part of Kénitra’s sports legacy and a symbol of the city.
All eyes are currently on the remaining matches of the season, with a clear goal to ensure the club’s safety in the second division while avoiding further setbacks. As the season draws to a close, a broad discussion is expected regarding the club’s future and ways to secure its financial and administrative stability, maintaining “KAC”’s prestigious place in the history of Moroccan football.
