Elite Security Units Showcase Their Operational Readiness in Special Intervention Spaces
During the Open Days, the General Directorate of National Security presented an integrated space highlighting special intervention units, aimed at familiarizing visitors with the various specialized security teams under the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, showcasing their missions, equipment, and field roles.
At the forefront of this exhibition was the booth for the Special Forces of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, representing the elite teams specialized in countering terrorist threats and securing major events. This force comprises highly trained storming, intervention, and sniper teams, equipped with advanced technical equipment, including armored vehicles and concealment uniforms. These elements have directly participated in dismantling numerous terrorist cells and organized crime networks in recent years.
Alongside this booth, the mobile groups for maintaining order made a strong presence, offering insights into the regular police units responsible for ensuring public safety during events, protests, and large gatherings. The exhibition featured displays of personal protective equipment and quick intervention tools, with a special area for children to take photos with police figurines in field scenarios.
Also attracting visitors’ attention was the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit’s booth, which showcased robots and modern techniques for inspecting suspicious objects and disarming explosives, along with direct explanations from highly skilled security personnel in this sensitive field.
The security exhibition was further enhanced by the Central Intervention Squad (BCI) booth, one of the elite units that intervenes to neutralize threats in complex security situations and serious crimes. This booth provided a focused presentation on this squad’s missions, highlighting aspects of its equipment and operational readiness.
Continuing with the security demonstrations, the forensic police booth presented various breeds of trained police dogs, along with explanations of their specialties in tracking drugs, explosives, and crime detection. Models of vehicles equipped for transporting dogs and specialized training and intervention uniforms were also exhibited, alongside some dogs that have achieved remarkable field technical accomplishments.
In the area of awareness and prevention, the General Directorate of National Security dedicated a comprehensive space to road safety, showcasing smart monitoring tools, speed control technologies, and mechanisms for raising awareness about traffic laws. A miniature track for children was set up in partnership with the National Road Safety Agency, along with a driving simulation device introduced for the first time to educate drivers about road hazards.
The security pathway concluded with the mounted police booth, which displayed a variety of functional uniforms designated for this specialty, including ceremonial, intervention, and field attire. Awards and trophies won by the National Police Mounted Unit in national and international competitions were presented, along with explanations of the patrols conducted by the mounted teams in forested and tourist areas.
This comprehensive space, which combined theoretical explanations with practical demonstrations, provided a rare opportunity for citizens to discover the professional and technical dimensions achieved by security work in Morocco, through specialized intervention teams, modern equipment, and field competencies trained to face complex security challenges.
