The National Photography Museum in Rabat is set to undergo significant renovations aimed at enhancing its infrastructure and improving visitor facilities. This initiative is part of the national cultural institution’s broader efforts to preserve this vital space and boost its appeal to the public.
Housed within the historic Rottemburg Fortress overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the museum was transformed into a dedicated venue for photography before its official inauguration in 2020. Nearly six years after its launch, the National Museums Foundation is preparing to initiate new works to modernize the museum’s facilities, ensuring it continues to host exhibitions and artistic events under optimal conditions.
This project aligns with ongoing efforts to develop museums across Morocco, contributing to the appreciation of cultural heritage while providing contemporary spaces that meet the expectations of both artists and visitors. Importantly, the renovations aim to maintain the historical value of the landmark that hosts the museum.
