Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday the appointment of his National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz, as the ambassador of the United States to the United Nations.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump wrote, “I am pleased to announce that I will appoint Mike Waltz to be the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.”
Additionally, he noted that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as acting National Security Advisor, “continuing his strong leadership” at the helm of U.S. diplomacy.
Trump emphasized in his post, “Together we will continue to work tirelessly to make America and the world safe again.”
