The government raises the compensation for occupational hazards for some employees of the Ministry of Health

The Council of Government approved, on Thursday, the draft decree No. 2.25.339 amending and supplementing decree No. 2.99.649 dated the 25th of Jumada al-Akhira 1420 (October 6, 1999) concerning the protection and compensation of certain categories of employees of the Ministry of Health against occupational hazards, presented by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ameen Tahraoui.

The Minister in charge of relations with Parliament and government spokesman, Mustafa Baytas, stated in a press meeting following the Council of Government session that this project falls within the framework of implementing the royal directives aimed at reevaluating the national health system and enhancing its appeal, particularly concerning the valuation of human resources working in the health sector.

Baytas added that this project also continues the implementation of the government program 2021-2026, which emphasizes motivating and valuing national human capital, and in accordance with the provisions of the agreement signed on July 23, 2024, between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the trade union bodies representing the health sector.

According to the minister, the aim of this decree project is to increase the compensation for occupational hazards for nursing, administrative, and technical staff, while introducing compensation for occupational hazards for the first time for university professors affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, who work at the higher institutes for nursing professions and health technologies, as well as at the National School of Public Health. This is part of the effort to value and motivate human resources to perform their duties under suitable professional conditions, contributing to the improvement of health service quality and achieving efficiency in managing health facilities.
