A meeting on economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa, featuring Morocco, was held yesterday, Wednesday, at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa. This meeting was organized at the invitation of the Permanent Mission of China to the African Union, with the participation of representatives from the 54 African countries that are members of the United Nations.

In a speech he was invited to deliver on the occasion, Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mohamed Arouchi, emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between China and Africa, as well as Africa’s crucial contributions towards achieving the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

During this meeting, Arouchi highlighted the historical and strong relations that bind the Kingdom of Morocco and the People’s Republic of China, expressing his satisfaction with the level of these relations as well as the significant achievements made in this regard.

Furthermore, this meeting, held within the framework of the China-Africa partnership, was characterized by the notable presence of representatives from UN agencies and Chinese economic actors in the areas of development, investment, and financing, particularly the China International Development Cooperation Agency, the Chinese Export-Import Bank, and the China Chamber of Commerce.

This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss several topics related to financial and technical support directed towards Chinese development projects in Africa.
