Two Young Men Arrested for Brandishing Knives in Front of Police Station in Casablanca
In the early hours of Wednesday, April 16, the police in the Casablanca region, in coordination with the local judicial police in the city of Abi Jaj, arrested two young men aged 18 and 21 on suspicion of involvement in a case related to possessing knives and disseminating digital content that poses a threat to the safety of individuals and property.
The national security authorities reacted swiftly and seriously to images circulated on social media, showing the suspects brandishing knives in front of a police station in the Al-Naseem neighborhood of Casablanca, a scene that raised concerns among the local public.
Intensive investigations and security inquiries initiated by the relevant authorities based on these images enabled the identification of the individuals in question and their arrest in the outskirts of Abi Jaj, where they had been hiding.
The detainees were subjected to a judicial investigation overseen by the competent public prosecutor, under the supervision of the judicial police in Casablanca, aimed at uncovering all the circumstances and motivations behind these actions, as well as identifying any other individuals potentially involved or complicit in this criminal behavior.
The General Directorate of National Security emphasizes its ongoing efforts to combat all acts that could harm public security, both in the physical and digital realms.
