After the first leg’s thrashing, can Real Madrid topple Arsenal?

Real Madrid is on the hunt for a new comeback as they host London’s Arsenal at the Santiago Bernabéu this evening in another exciting fixture between the Spanish and English giants in the return leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Arsenal achieved a significant victory in the first leg, winning 3-0, showcasing a remarkable performance from star Declan Rice, who scored twice from direct free kicks, while Mikel Merino added the third goal, further increasing the woes of the royal giant this season.

However, Real Madrid’s task of pulling off another incredible comeback, a feat they are known for in their favorite tournament, the Champions League—where they hold the record for the most titles—might not be straightforward this time, especially since the royal giant has never defeated Arsenal in the competition. The two teams have faced each other three times before, with the Gunners winning twice and the match ending in a draw once.

It is expected that Real Madrid will miss the services of Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga, who was sent off with a red card in the first leg, while Ferland Mendy, Éder Militão, Dani Carvajal, and Andriy Lunin are sidelined due to injuries. Arsenal, on the other hand, will be without Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and several other players due to injuries.
