Rabat will host the third edition of the International Chemistry Forum on May 21 and 22, organized by the Federation of Chemistry and Semi-Chemistry under the theme “Chemistry at the Heart of Energy Transition Projects and Strategic Initiatives.”
The federation’s statement indicated that this new edition, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, aims to highlight the pivotal role played by the chemical industry in major energy, economic, and industrial transformations at both national and international levels.
The same source noted that this forum comes at a time characterized by accelerating ambitions in sustainable development, decarbonization, and industrial relocation, with the chemistry sector emerging as a fundamental pillar to support the activation of major strategic projects in the Kingdom: green hydrogen, high-performance batteries, valorization of local resources, and the development of sustainable industrial systems, among others.
The International Chemistry Forum features a packed and ambitious program, with the opening plenary session expected to include several prominent figures representing government circles and the business world. The two-day event will feature discussions sparked by inspiring keynote speeches, interactive roundtables, and thematic workshops, allowing various perspectives to be expressed and fostering collective thinking on the major challenges related to the sector. Industrial players, institutional representatives, experts, researchers, and investors will be invited to discuss and share their expertise on the opportunities presented by the chemistry sector to support and accelerate energy and industrial transformation in Morocco.
The program will center around plenary sessions, keynote speeches, roundtables, and thematic workshops focusing particularly on the role of chemistry in developing high-performance battery systems and green hydrogen, sensitive and strategic materials for future industries, chemistry’s contribution to industrial and energy sovereignty, technological innovation and applied research, and the development of human capital to accompany the sector’s transformation.
On the sidelines of this forum, the Chemistry Village will welcome key national and international stakeholders in the sector within a dedicated space that encourages interaction among professionals and the valorization of technological innovations.
