The number of approved projects since the launch of the “Go Tourism” program has reached approximately 819 projects.

During a session of oral questions at the House of Representatives on Monday, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatima-Zahra Amour, revealed that since the launch of the “Go Tourism” program in February 2024, around 819 projects have been accepted.

In her response to a question regarding the “Go Tourism” program posed by the National Rally of Independents party, the minister highlighted that this number represents over half of the target set for just one year. Minister Amour noted that 746 companies are benefiting from technical support with specialized experts, with an investment of 85 million dirhams, including 70 million dirhams in grants. She indicated that this support aids businesses in improving services, digital transformation, enhancing skills, diversifying markets, and rationalizing energy consumption.

She also added that the program supports 46 projects related to tourism activation and entertainment, with an investment of approximately 300 million dirhams and grants estimated at 90 million dirhams, explaining that these projects include activities such as surfing, sandboarding, fishing, boat tours, equestrian clubs, climbing walls, and more.

Regarding the environmental aspect, the minister confirmed that 27 companies are receiving special support for energy transition, with an investment of 52 million dirhams and grants reaching up to 20 million dirhams, covering equipment such as solar energy systems, improved water resource use, waste and wastewater treatment, along with other sustainable technologies.

Amour mentioned that the “Go Tourism” program aims to provide financial and technical support to 1,700 tourism companies by 2026, which will contribute to the creation of innovative and diverse entertainment offerings and new job opportunities.
