The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that several upcoming continental tournaments will be hosted across various African nations, highlighting the region’s growing role in international sports. Egypt is set to host the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations in 2027, which will serve as a qualifying tournament for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
In its recent statement, CAF confirmed that Ghana will organize the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in February and March 2024. Meanwhile, Morocco will host the Under-17 tournament in April and May. Additionally, there are plans to consider launching a new Under-17 Women’s Championship, pending the fulfillment of necessary sporting and organizational requirements.
Morocco will also hold the African Futsal Cup of Nations in October 2026, with the African Beach Soccer Championship scheduled for Senegal in November of the same year. In club and national team competitions, the CAF Super Cup is set to take place in South Africa this November.
Moreover, the Africa Cup of Nations will feature a joint hosting arrangement among Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027, with qualifying matches scheduled to commence next month. This tournament is particularly noteworthy as it will occur in two consecutive years, 2027 and 2028, before reverting to its traditional four-year cycle beginning in 2032.
