The Moroccan National Meteorological Directorate forecasts a particularly hot day across several regions this Tuesday, July 14. With rising temperatures expected in the southeast, eastern areas, and southern provinces, residents should prepare for a significant warm spell.
Weather Overview
In addition to the heat, the morning and evening hours may bring low-lying clouds along the Atlantic coast and plains, potentially accompanied by light fog or very light local rain. The mountains of the Atlas range are also expected to see scattered cumulus clouds, which could enhance the region’s dramatic landscape.
Wind and Temperature Expectations
Moderate to strong winds will sweep through the Great and Middle Atlas, as well as the eastern and southeastern parts of the country, with the possibility of local sand dust occurring. Temperature ranges will vary significantly: nighttime lows can be anticipated between 26°C and 30°C in the southeast and southern extremes, while the eastern regions will see temperatures between 22°C and 26°C. The mountainous areas of the Atlas and Rif will enjoy cooler conditions, ranging from 13°C to 18°C. The rest of the country will experience mild temperatures from 17°C to 22°C.
Outlook for the Day
As the day progresses, maximum temperatures are expected to rise across the nation, intensifying the heat wave. The Mediterranean and Bouregreg coasts will see calm to slight waves, while the Atlantic coast will experience slightly rougher conditions.
This weather pattern not only signifies a shift to hotter conditions but also raises concerns about the potential for dry spells that could impact agriculture and water resources in the region.
As citizens prepare for the warm weather, staying hydrated and taking precautions against heat-related ailments will be essential.
