Azimbaï is entering a new phase of development, seeking to establish itself as a sustainable and integrated tourist destination along the southern coast of Casablanca. This ambition aligns with international hospitality standards, as the project has successfully completed its initial phase sales and is launching a management model that bolsters its status in the high-end tourism sector.
Transition to Operational Phase
The project recently announced the successful completion of sales for the first phase, making approximately twenty early buyers, who have supported the venture from its inception, actual property owners. These owners are now linked to Earth Hospitality through utilization contracts lasting nine years, marking a significant milestone in the project’s transition to operational status and investment.
Regulatory and Institutional Framework
Key to this transformation is a structured legal and institutional framework, as the project is now fully compliant with Law 01-07, governing real estate projects for tourist development (RIPT). Earth Hospitality, which has received the necessary licenses to manage such developments, is tasked with overseeing the hospitality operations.
A Sustainable and Integrated Model
This regulatory foundation paves the way for Azimbaï’s model, which combines real estate ownership, hospitality services, and a professional management experience, providing a robust basis for the project’s continued development. In line with this vision, the project has implemented a new governance strategy through a management contract with Kew Green Hotels, a London-based firm specializing in hotel and white-label management.
Future Developments
The aim of this partnership is to facilitate the gradual elevation of the project, setting the stage for its integration into a new luxury hotel brand focused on lifestyle, well-being, and sustainability, overseen by a leading global hospitality group. The first phase of Azimbaï comprises 61 accommodation units, complemented by comprehensive facilities including restaurants, wellness and recreation areas, an Olympic-size pool, and a spa, as well as essential infrastructure to support future project expansion.
Situated at the intersection of forest and ocean, the resort enjoys a unique natural setting that enhances its identity and attractiveness. Upcoming phases are expected to include the completion of additional project units, gradual operational commencement, service development, and an enhanced customer experience, with an aim to re-position Azimbaï within the luxury hotel category and aspiring for a five-star rating.
This development occurs at a time when the southern coast of Casablanca is garnering increased attention as one of the last natural coastal extensions near the economic capital. This momentum coincides with a dynamic growth in Morocco’s tourism sector, having welcomed over 20 million visitors by 2025, and as the country prepares to host the 2030 World Cup.
Project leaders believe the region holds significant potential to attract upscale tourism due to its proximity to Casablanca, located less than forty minutes from the nation’s economic hub, alongside its preserved natural characteristics. Within this broader framework, Azimbaï aligns with a comprehensive vision to develop sustainable beach tourism in Morocco, focusing on limited urban impact, harmonious integration with the natural landscape, local competency enhancement, and short supply chains for project components.
The project aspires to create an integrated environment for accommodation, well-being, and tourism experiences, aligning with global tourism trends toward more sustainable models closely linked to natural and cultural contexts while reinforcing its ambition to become a benchmark for sustainable tourism development along the southern coast of Casablanca.
