The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) held an extraordinary general meeting on June 5, 2026, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, followed by the regular general meeting, in the presence of key figures from national football. This gathering signals a pivotal moment in Morocco’s efforts to enhance its football landscape amid preparations for the upcoming 2030 World Cup.

Commitment to Reform

The extraordinary meeting began with confirmation of the quorum, allowing FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa to address attendees. He emphasized that the meeting is part of ongoing reforms aimed at advancing Moroccan football by strengthening governance and management frameworks. Lekjaa expressed his gratitude to King Mohammed VI for the royal support dedicated to the development of national football, underscoring the monarchy’s unwavering commitment as a cornerstone in the sector’s progression.

Unity and Development

Lekjaa praised the collective efforts of clubs, federations, and administrative and technical staff in enhancing Moroccan football. He highlighted the sacrifices made by stakeholders to elevate the sport’s status, acknowledging it as a comprehensive development project. He called for continuous reforms and the consolidation of achievements to elevate Morocco’s football to new heights on the continental and international stages, particularly as the nation approaches the final stages of preparations for the 2030 World Cup.

Key Decisions Made

Following the extraordinary meeting, the assembly unanimously approved proposed amendments to certain statutes of the FRMF, aligning with the new momentum for developing the national football system. Transitioning to the ordinary meeting, participants also ratified both the literary and financial reports, fostering a spirit of responsibility and consensus within the football community.

A Salute to Loyalty

The proceedings concluded with the reading of a telegram reaffirming loyalty to King Mohammed VI, expressing steadfastness to the esteemed monarchy and renewing a pledge of allegiance and fidelity.

This significant gathering not only marks a step forward in the strategic reform of Moroccan football but also instills a collective vision as the kingdom eyes a prominent role on the global football stage.
