New Program in Mediouna Aims to Boost Employment for Youth with Disabilities

Empowering Morocco’s Youth with Disabilities Through Comprehensive Training Program

In an initiative that seeks to facilitate social and economic integration, the For Morocco Association, in collaboration with the National Initiative for Human Development in the Mediouna region, has launched a robust training program aimed at young people with cognitive and physical disabilities. Running throughout 2026, the program addresses the urgent need for inclusion and self-sufficiency among this marginalized demographic.

Context: A Gap in Opportunities

Despite significant advancements in disability rights, young people with disabilities often face barriers to employment and social participation. The Mediouna region, like many others in Morocco, has limited resources dedicated to their integration into the workforce. This new initiative is designed to fill that void, providing the necessary tools and support to help these youths forge a new path toward autonomy.

Program Overview: A Multi-Faceted Approach

Hosted at the Youth Socio-Professional Integration Center in Mediouna, the program offers specialized training, personalized coaching, and psychological and social support. The goal is not only to equip participants with professional and life skills but also to instill confidence, allowing them to navigate the job market more effectively. President of the For Morocco Association, Yassine Rikh, emphasized that this initiative provides a genuine opportunity for young people with disabilities to lead dignified lives and contribute to societal development.

Collaborative Efforts: A Strong Community Network

As highlighted by Sihem Boukhrwaâ, the Head of the Social Work Department in Mediouna, this initiative is the result of a partnership involving the local Human Development Committee and various stakeholders. It represents a collaborative effort to boost social integration for vulnerable groups. “This program is a pioneering example of cooperative work between public institutions and civil society,” she noted, underscoring its importance in fostering community solidarity.

Structured Training Modules: Tailoring to Individual Needs

The program comprises multiple essential components, including academic support, vocational training tailored to the beneficiaries’ abilities, practical internships, and workshops on communication and life skills. Additionally, it provides guidance for income-generating projects and offers medical and semi-medical services. To further enrich the initiative, families of the beneficiaries will also be involved through awareness and communication meetings aimed at strengthening the family’s role in supporting the social and professional integration of young people with disabilities.

By actively engaging families and fostering a cooperative network of support, the For Morocco initiative paves the way for a brighter future for young individuals with disabilities, ensuring they are not merely spectators but active participants in their communities.
