In a significant move to enhance social inclusion through sports, Lenovo has announced its support for the “Football for All Leadership in Africa 2026” program. This initiative, run by the nonprofit organization Integrated Dreams in partnership with FIFA, aims to empower people with disabilities and cultivate leadership skills through football.

Levelling the Playing Field

As part of a growing commitment to social integration via sports, Lenovo’s involvement signals a broader push to include individuals with disabilities in the sporting arena. Funded by the FIFA World Football Remission Fund, the program gathers participants from across Africa, united by their shared experiences of disability and engagement in football. This multi-phase training and leadership initiative seeks to widen access to resources and promote the social and professional inclusion of its participants.

Bridging Gaps in Rabat

The program held one of its key in-person sessions in Rabat, attended by representatives from Lenovo Morocco and the company’s global charitable arm. This event underscored Lenovo’s dedication to humanitarian initiatives grounded in the principles of equality and inclusivity. The “Football for All Leadership” program aims to enhance employability and foster entrepreneurship among disabled individuals in the sports sector, equipping them with essential skills, experiences, and networking opportunities for successful career paths or impactful social ventures.

Commitment to Innovation and Inclusion

This support for the initiative reflects Lenovo’s commitment to the “Football for All” mission in its partnership with FIFA as the official technology partner of the global football federation. The company is focused on fostering innovation and improving inclusion within the football ecosystem, whether through major tournaments or community-centered initiatives.

Meriem Bouzlitane, Lenovo Morocco’s representative, emphasized the transformative power of technology and sport in creating opportunities and promoting inclusion. She highlighted that the company’s support for this program aligns with its vision to empower individuals of all abilities with the skills and confidence they need to succeed both on and off the field.

The Road to 2030

As Africa prepares to co-host the FIFA World Cup in 2030, initiatives like “Football for All Leadership in Africa 2026” showcase the sport’s increasing influence as a vehicle for social change. Such programs contribute to developing young leaders and instilling a culture of inclusion across the continent, reaffirming football’s potential to impact lives profoundly.
