A Model for Arab Security Initiatives

Mohamed Ben Ali Koman, Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, praised Morocco’s initiative to hold open days for the National Security as a pioneering model for the Arab world. This program exemplifies a modern approach to security that emphasizes citizen engagement and the promotion of human rights.

A Source of Inspiration

Speaking in Rabat at the seventh edition of the National Security Open Days, Koman noted that Morocco’s experience serves as a beacon for the Arab region. It has successfully balanced the need for security with the delivery of high-quality services to citizens, while simultaneously fostering trust between security institutions and communities.

Koman commended King Mohammed VI’s unwavering commitment to addressing Arab issues and advancing international peace and security, highlighting the ongoing support the Council enjoys from Morocco. This collaboration is pivotal in enhancing collective Arab security.

Advancements in Security Education

Koman also emphasized Morocco’s efforts to stay abreast of scientific and technological advancements through initiatives such as the establishment of the Higher Institute of Security Sciences in Ifrane and the new National Security headquarters. These projects not only reflect the kingdom’s dedication to modernizing its security apparatus but also adhere to Morocco’s architectural heritage, ensuring a sense of identity in the face of modernization.

Notable Achievements in Law Enforcement

The Moroccan police have made significant strides recently, bolstering their reputation on both regional and international fronts. These advancements have earned them the respect of various Arab and international security agencies, particularly in areas related to security cooperation and the fight against organized crime and emerging threats.

The seventh edition of the National Security Open Days continues until May 22, showcasing the General Directorate of National Security’s commitment to modernizing police services and enhancing their quality in line with royal directives. This annual event, previously hosted in cities like Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier, Fes, Agadir, and El Jadida, provides citizens with a unique opportunity to engage directly with police roles and responsibilities.

Fostering Community Engagement

The ongoing open days represent a crucial platform for fostering dialogue between the police and citizens. They not only illuminate the various functions of national security but also promote a collaborative spirit necessary for enhancing public safety in Morocco and the broader Arab region.
