Marrakech – Yesterday, the city of Marrakech hosted an extensive meeting organized by the National Federation of Women’s Amazigh Assembly, attended by government officials, ministers, and hundreds of female activists, to honor prominent female figures in development, politics, and social spheres.
The event highlighted the success stories of Moroccan women, including Ghazlan Al-Shoudani, an elected rural representative actively involved in her region’s development, Olympic champion Nawal Al-Moutawakel, and vice president of the International Olympic Committee. Also recognized were the academic and author Laila Bousseria, Ayisha Al-Dous, who embodies the struggles of women in their daily lives, and Fatima Al-Ghiati, a symbol of Amazigh resistance and a defender of family and national values.
The president of the federation praised the pivotal role of these figures in enhancing women’s social, economic, and political empowerment, outlining the government reforms that supported them, including universal health coverage, support programs for widows, and increasing women’s representation in decision-making positions within political parties and elected bodies.
She affirmed that these initiatives represent Morocco’s ambitious vision for achieving equality and full participation of women in national development, commending the National Rally of Independents for its support of economic and social empowerment programs, particularly in rural areas. She emphasized that the future depends on women’s contributions to building a progressive Morocco that upholds dignity and equality for all.
