The Moroccan government is set to launch the National Week for Social and Solidarity Economy, from April 27 to May 3, under the patronage of King Mohammed VI. This initiative aims to highlight the crucial role of the sector in fostering socio-economic inclusion and supporting development throughout the nation.

A Platform for Engagement
The week-long event will feature a series of activities that bring together institutional actors, professionals, and representatives from cooperatives, associations, and social enterprises. The core objective is to recognize the achievements of the social and solidarity economy while exploring pathways for its future development.

Highlight Events Scheduled
Key events during the week include the official opening ceremony on Tuesday, April 28, at the Rabat Arzana Conrad Hotel, and a special recognition ceremony for women on Wednesday, April 29, at the Marriott Hotel. Additionally, participants will celebrate the success of beneficiaries from the “Mouazara” program on the same day at Le Zénith in the Riyad neighborhood of Rabat.

Strengthening Community Initiatives
This endeavor comes in line with Morocco’s ongoing efforts to elevate the social and solidarity economy as a vital driver for job creation, local initiatives, and the empowerment of women and youth. By reinforcing these community-based enterprises, the government seeks to contribute to sustainable regional development across various provinces.
