Nadia Fettah: Health is a Pillar for Economic Stability and a Guide for Development Models

Nadia Fettah emphasized that the health sector is no longer a separate domain; it has become a fundamental driver for economic stability and development. She pronounced that finance ministers play a crucial role in transforming this direction into sustainable financing and tangible results for citizens.

During her participation in the high-level forum on sustainable health financing in Africa, held on the sidelines of the 58th Conference of African Finance, Planning, and Economic Development Ministers in Tangier, Fettah noted that this approach represents a firm conviction for Morocco.

She added that the Kingdom, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, has placed human capital at the heart of its development model, considering health as a cornerstone of this vision. This commitment has translated into continuous financial efforts, enabling health coverage to expand to nearly 88 percent of the population, benefiting over 32 million people.

The government official highlighted that this investment is reflected in improved access to nearby and affordable healthcare services, supported by enhanced infrastructure and expanded capabilities nationwide. She also pointed out that Morocco is working to strengthen its health sovereignty by developing a robust pharmaceutical industry that ensures the sustainable provision of medicines.

Fettah stressed that achieving these goals requires a clear methodology based on collaborative policy formulation, timely decision-making, and effective implementation. She reiterated that financial resources alone are insufficient, and partnerships are essential.
