A Moroccan-Azerbaijani agreement has come into effect to enhance scientific research and student exchange between the two countries.
The step formalizes an agreement aimed at expanding partnership opportunities between universities and research centers in both nations through the launch of joint scientific projects and intensifying the exchange of experiences, alongside organizing academic events that gather researchers and students on issues of mutual interest.
The agreement also includes the establishment of an annual student exchange program targeting undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, with the possibility of organizing parallel preparatory courses, as well as promoting the mobility of researchers and launching training programs to strengthen professional competencies.
In a related context, the Azerbaijani president also ratified another regional agreement concerning the rehabilitation of educational infrastructure in Syria, with the participation of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), reflecting a trend towards expanding areas of trilateral cooperation in the education sector.
The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, Azeddine Medaoui, oversaw the signing of the agreement with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Emin Amrullayev, during an official visit to Rabat, highlighting a mutual desire to establish a sustainable academic partnership based on knowledge exchange and the development of scientific research.
