The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, attended an official dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron in honor of the leaders of participating countries at the World Nuclear Energy Summit on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Akhannouch represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI at this diplomatic event.
Accompanying Akhannouch was the Moroccan delegation, which included Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security Saïd Mouline, Director General of the National Center for Energy, Nuclear Science, and Technology Hamid Marah, as well as Morocco’s Ambassador to Paris, Samira Sitail.
The discussions at the dinner, attended by leaders alongside representatives from international organizations, investors, and energy sector experts, focused on the development of civil nuclear energy, project financing, new applications for low-carbon electricity and heat, organizing industrial value chains, and ensuring the security of nuclear fuel supply.
This participation underscores Morocco’s commitment to enhancing its presence in international discussions on clean and sustainable energy and exploring opportunities for cooperation and global partnerships in the civil nuclear sector.
