Establishment of Judicial Offices in Stadiums Hosting the Africa Cup to Ensure Rapid Justice and Comprehensive Sports Security
Today, the establishment of judicial offices within the stadiums hosting the Africa Cup matches was announced. This proactive step aims to ensure swift and safe justice within sports venues, coinciding with the Kingdom’s preparations for major continental events.
This initiative, in its first phase, involves inaugurating judicial offices at several stadiums, with a focus on Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. It serves as a new institutional mechanism allowing the public prosecutor’s office to intervene immediately in addressing cases and violations that may occur during the matches, in direct coordination with security services and relevant authorities.
The initiative seeks to establish a modern and effective approach to managing issues related to sports events, accelerating decision-making processes, respecting individual rights and guarantees of a fair trial, maintaining order and security within the stadiums, and alleviating pressure on courts.
In this context, Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi emphasized that the creation of these offices reflects a clear commitment to ensuring justice is present at major sports events. He stressed that Morocco aims to balance high-level sports entertainment with respect for the law, through accessible and prompt justice that protects rights and freedoms.
This measure marks a new chapter in the modernization of sports venue management and serves as a reassuring message to both national and international audiences that Moroccan stadiums are safe, organized, and responsible spaces. This enhances Morocco’s image as a country capable of hosting major sports events in accordance with internationally recognized legal and regulatory standards.
