The National Rally of Independents praises the 2026 Finance Law and highlights positive economic outcomes during a meeting of its political bureau in Tangier.

On Friday, December 19, 2025, the political bureau of the National Rally of Independents held a meeting in Tangier, chaired by Aziz Akhannouch, to discuss political, economic, and social developments, as well as to address several internal organizational matters.

At the beginning of the meeting, the political bureau expressed its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims of the tragedies in Fez and Safi, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured. In this context, it emphasized the importance of the rehabilitation program for the areas affected by the floods in Safi, which the government launched in line with royal directives, providing support for the victims and restoring damaged homes and businesses.

On the party front, the political bureau praised the success of the communication tour “Path of Achievements,” which concluded its stops in the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region after touring various regions of the kingdom, involving intensive field communication with citizens, particularly through “Liberals’ Discussions” organized in numerous local communities. It confirmed that this dynamic reflects the party’s commitment to proximity and listening as a steadfast approach.

Regarding government matters, the political bureau expressed appreciation for the contents of the 2026 Finance Law, considering it evidence of the government’s seriousness in responding to citizens’ expectations and fulfilling its commitments, particularly concerning enhancing the social dimension of public policies, continuing to expand social protection, accelerating the reform of the health and education systems, and supporting investment while maintaining financial balances.

It also acknowledged the efforts made within the framework of social dialogue, particularly concerning raising the legal minimum wage by 5% in non-agricultural sectors starting January 2026, and by a similar percentage in agricultural sectors starting April of the same year. This adjustment has brought the total increases since the beginning of the government term to unprecedented levels.

In this context, the political bureau commended the positive results recorded in economic and social indicators, noting that the gross domestic product has surpassed 160 billion dollars, household income has improved, inflation rates have decreased, and over 213,000 jobs have been created. It regarded these figures as a reflection of the government’s sound policies and its ability to manage the situation with a high sense of responsibility.

In the sporting realm, the political bureau congratulated the Moroccan national team for winning the Arab Cup in Qatar, extending its congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people, wishing success to the national team in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by the kingdom.

Organizationally, the political bureau reviewed the latest preparations for the upcoming national council session of the party scheduled for January 10, 2026, in Rabat, affirming that the issued communiqué serves as an official invitation for national council members. It also approved the party budget proposal for 2026, following a presentation by Mustafa Baïtas, in preparation for submitting it to the national council for the final approval process.
