Bourita Welcomes New U.S. Ambassador Duke Buchan to Discuss Ways to Strengthen Strategic Partnership
On Wednesday, Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, welcomed the new U.S. Ambassador Duke Buchan III at the ministry’s headquarters in Rabat. Buchan officially began his duties as head of the United States Embassy in Morocco.
During the meeting, Ambassador Buchan expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, stating, “I thank Minister Bourita for the welcome during my first visit to the ministry as the new ambassador to Morocco.” He added that the discussions were “fruitful and centered on ways to enhance the strong relations between the United States and Morocco.”
The American diplomat reaffirmed his country’s desire to continue developing the strategic partnership with Rabat, particularly in political, economic, and security matters.
President Donald Trump announced Duke Buchan’s appointment last March, highlighting that the new ambassador would “play a crucial role in a phase where we solidify peace, freedom, and prosperity for our countries.”
