Local authorities in the city of Fes began responding Tuesday night into Wednesday, December 9-10, 2025, to the tragic collapse of two four-story residential buildings in the Al-Mustaqbal neighborhood of the urban district. The initial toll reached 19 deceased, while 16 others suffered injuries of varying severity.
Immediately upon notification, teams from local authorities, the national police, and civil protection arrived at the scene, initiating rescue operations and searching through the rubble. The area surrounding the collapse was cordoned off, and residents of nearby homes were evacuated as a precautionary measure aimed at safeguarding the public and preventing any additional risks.
The injured were transported to the University Hospital Center in Fes for necessary medical examinations and treatment, while rescue teams continued their efforts at the collapse site searching for any missing individuals who may be trapped beneath the debris.
