Partnership Agreement to Enhance Occupational Safety and Health in the Traditional Industry Sector

In a significant step towards improving working conditions and enhancing occupational safety in the traditional industry sector, Hicham Sabri, the Secretary of State for Employment, signed a partnership agreement today, Friday, with the National Federation of Artisans and Craftsmen. The agreement was signed at the temporary headquarters of the Secretary of State in Rabat, as part of efforts to establish a culture of safety and occupational health within workshops and small enterprises.

The aim of the agreement is to develop the work environment in this sector, which is a key pillar of the country’s economic and social fabric, through the implementation of a training program in the Casablanca-Settat region. This program will target cooperatives and small enterprises operating in crafts and traditional industries, focusing on essential aspects such as raising awareness of occupational risks, training workers on personal protective equipment, and evaluating the work environment.

The program also seeks to improve productivity and work quality in the sector while ensuring the sustainability of artisanal activities, benefiting artisans and assisting in the development of the local economy.
