A A

Morocco has officially submitted its candidacy for membership in the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) during the 42nd General Assembly of the organization, taking place from September 23 to October 3 in Montreal, Canada.

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics reported that this candidacy reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to playing an active role in global civil aviation governance and contributing to the formulation of international policies and standards, while ensuring that the priorities of the African continent are represented and defended within this international body.

The ministry emphasized that Morocco seeks, through this candidacy, to enhance the safety, security, and sustainability of air transport, and to develop technical and operational cooperation among member states, drawing on its experience in modernizing aviation infrastructure and its strategic position as a regional air transport hub.
