NVIDIA and Abu Dhabi Launch Regional Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab
Abu Dhabi has announced a joint research lab dedicated to artificial intelligence and robotics, established by NVIDIA and the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). This lab marks the first of its kind for NVIDIA in the Middle East, with the aim of developing new AI models and advanced robotic platforms.
The lab combines the computational power and AI models of NVIDIA with the interdisciplinary research conducted by TII. Najwa Araji, the institute’s director general, highlighted that the partnership will leverage NVIDIA’s specialized graphics processors, including the Thor chip designed to support advanced robotic systems such as humanoid robots, quadrupeds, and robotic arms.
This project aligns with the United Arab Emirates’ strategy, which invests heavily to become a global player in the field of artificial intelligence, implementing various digital infrastructure and data center projects. The lab will host teams from both organizations and plans to hire new specialists to accelerate research in applied artificial intelligence and robotics.
