Salé: Collapse of Old House Leaves One Dead and Highlights the Risk of Dilapidated Buildings

A notable incident occurred in the Sidi Ider neighborhood on Zouawi Street in Salé, where an old house collapsed, resulting in the death of one person. Residents have expressed their concerns regarding the increasing danger of dilapidated buildings in the area.

According to eyewitnesses, several residents rushed to the site immediately after hearing the sound of the collapse, before the authorities arrived to begin retrieving the victim’s body.

Residents pointed out the fragility of the architectural structures in the old city, confirming that many homes are at risk of collapsing at any moment. They called on the relevant authorities to expedite the rehabilitation and restructuring projects previously announced by King Mohammed VI to ensure the safety of the residents.
