Fez: Arrest of Individual on Charges of Forging Schengen Visa Documents and Organizing Illegal Immigration

The regional judicial police in Fez arrested an individual on Tuesday, August 19, suspected of involvement in forgery of documents and their use in creating Schengen visa applications, as well as organizing illegal immigration and human trafficking. This operation was based on information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect was active in forging documents and administrative records used in visa applications to facilitate illegal immigration. He was apprehended while attempting to sell a forged training certificate to a candidate, and it was found that four other individuals had obtained similar fake certificates for their applications.

During a search of a private language school owned by the suspect, police discovered a collection of forged training certificates, four passports in other individuals’ names, stamps from companies suspected of being forged, two laptops, and a central unit containing digital evidence related to the criminal activity, as well as monetary amounts in dirhams and euros obtained from these acts.

The suspect has been placed in custody as part of the judicial investigation, supervised by the public prosecutor, to determine the extent of the criminal network and apprehend other participants involved in these activities.
