Ceuta Border: Attempt to Smuggle 102,000 Hallucinogenic Pills Foiled
On Saturday evening, June 28, the national police and customs authorities thwarted a large-scale drug smuggling operation at the Ceuta border by seizing a shipment of 102,000 "Rivotril" pills.
The coordinated operation led to the arrest of a Spanish national of Moroccan descent, who was driving a vehicle registered abroad, accompanied by her two sons and a Moroccan woman, immediately upon their entry into national territory.
A thorough inspection of the vehicle revealed a significant quantity of the pills hidden securely within a metallic cavity in the vehicle’s structure, an attempt to evade surveillance.
Those involved have been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor’s office to uncover the potential network behind this operation, both within Morocco and abroad.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to curb the sources of international drug trafficking and combat all forms of transnational organized crime.
