The Throne Cup Final: History for Berkane, Dream for Safi

Express TV: Mustafa Filali

All eyes will be on the Grand Stadium in Fez this Sunday evening, set to host the final match of the 2023-2024 Throne Cup, featuring RS Berkane against Olympic Safi. This anticipated clash promises excitement as the orange team aims for their third title this season, while the team from Safi seeks their first crown in history.

Both teams wrapped up their preparations for this summit last night. RS Berkane looks to complete an exceptional season with a third title after winning both the league and the Confederation Cup under Tunisian coach Mourad Hachad, who is in search of another domestic trophy.

On the other hand, Olympic Safi dreams of toppling the champions from the east and seizing the silver cup for the first time, guided by their coach Amin Karam, who is well-versed in the intricacies of winning this competition, having led RS Berkane to the same cup triumph in 2023.

Berkane reached the final by defeating Moghreb Tétouan with a clean three-goal victory at Fez Stadium, while Olympic Safi advanced after beating Ittihad Toundja 1-0 in a match held at Al Arabi Al Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

Both teams will enter the final with a complete lineup, except for Olympic Safi’s forward Ibrahim Bahrawi, who is suspended after being sent off in the semi-final.
