Hicham Girando: From the Mouthpiece of Algerian Intelligence to a Dishwasher

Hicham Girando, who has inundated us for years with inflated rhetoric and wooden language filled with conspiracy theories, has finally appeared in a pitiable video working as a waiter in a restaurant, collecting dishes instead of the "secret" files he used to promote. Once presenting himself as a political activist and a "voice of truth," he has revealed himself to be nothing more than a failed intelligence tool, used and then discarded like a paper tissue.

This pawn, “Miskhot Mo,” did not oppose the state from a principled or activist stance. He simply followed orders, slandering, extorting, fabricating lies, and portraying himself as a superhero. The Algerian intelligence agency exploited him for years in its cold war against Morocco. Once exposed and recognized for what he truly is, the line of support was cut off, as he became a burnt card.

The scandal that revealed his true self is not surprising, but it is painful. Painful because this figure found believers, those who applauded him, who shared his narrative. It’s painful because Girando was not alone, and he will not be the last. There are many like him, spreading across YouTube and TikTok, speaking confidently and lying skillfully.

Today, Girando collects dishes, trying to live in the shadows after years of living in delusion. The real question is not about Girando but about the environment that birthed him. How did we allow him to become an "influencer"? How did we swallow his lies while he served a known regime hostile to Morocco? More importantly, how many more Girandos are still hiding under the guise of opposition, while in reality, they are just pawns in a game larger than themselves?

What has happened is not just the downfall of a traitor, but an exposure of a shameful reality, of the fragility of collective awareness when criticism is absent and naive admiration takes its place. Hicham Girando today needs not pity, but careful documentation. Let him remain a lesson for anyone who thinks that betrayal is a stance, or that playing with the agencies leads to a happy ending.

You are free to have your opinion, but do not be foolish. Do not believe everyone who shouts into the camera. Some of the shouting is paid for, and some struggles are financed through suspicious bank transfers.
Girando was not the first agent to be exposed, but he is one of the clearest examples of the inevitable fate of traitors. Treachery does not build a future. Those who sell their homeland always end up in obscurity, no matter how loudly they scream, how much they claim, or how well they promote themselves.
