From Tamghart to an Inspirational Artist: Fadwa Kssous and the Symphony of Blue 🎨
The visual artist Fadwa Kssous embodies a dreamer’s character and the gentle energy of womanhood. A thinker and creator, she is a source of strength for others and a fountain of inspiration for sensitive souls. She represents a sacred entity that recalls the reverence for women among Moroccans. Here, I turn to the Amazigh, who call women “Tamghart,” meaning “leader,” as they celebrate women for being the rulers and the ones who hold the reins of affairs. Our beloved homeland is a source of numerous female talents. It is to the creative entity of the artist, teacher, and gentle woman Fadwa Kssous that I address myself—a dreamer who draws inspiration for her paintings from nature. She believes that nature is the first school for artists. Her initial works featured various colors, but she ultimately adopted blue, which reflects the purity of her spirit, the clarity of her mind, and her harmony with nature—its skies and waters. She always begins her paintings with the phrase “In the name of God” and reflects on the blessings bestowed upon her by the Almighty through the peace and tranquility art brings her, immersing herself in a world filled with vibrant colors.
Art has always been and continues to be an inseparable part of Kssous’s life. It is a deep-rooted and profound relationship. Ever since she was young, she has shown interest in visual arts and everything related to this noble field. She pursued her studies in this domain academically, dedicating years of her life to ensure she would not be confined by any connections, conditions, or others’ perceptions of her. She sought to be the original and unique version of herself and to be at peace with herself, a gift that art has provided her, allowing her to view it as a desire to live, a means for the noble survival of the pure soul. For her, art is not about seeking the limelight or receiving applause; it is more profound. From her perspective, it is about sharing with others, a fervent desire to explore, research, and dive deep into colors and forms, as well as gaining the focus that many lack.
