Fqih Ben Salah Hosts the First Regional Forum for Social Work with Extensive University and Field Participation

The Fqih Ben Salah region witnessed the launch of the first regional forum for social work on Wednesday morning, May 21, 2025. The event is organized by Sultan Moulay Slimane University in partnership with the regional human development committee. This forum coincides with the 20th anniversary of the National Initiative for Human Development and will continue until May 24, taking place between the regional administration annex and the youth center in Souk Sebt Ouled Nemma.

The forum aims to highlight the impact of the National Initiative on improving development indicators and brings together academics, field practitioners, and local officials to exchange experiences and discuss ways to enhance social work. Nabil Boucho, the head of the social work department at the regional administration, emphasized the importance of the royal speech in 2005 in laying the foundations for this initiative, showcasing the tangible results achieved after two decades of work, the latest of which is confirmed by a recent UN report issued in May 2025.

Forum coordinator Dr. Aziza Kharrazi described the event as an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the university and the development sector, allowing outstanding students to engage with professional and practical experiences. Participants expressed their satisfaction with this initiative, which opens up avenues for applied training and integration into the social work market.

The program of the forum includes scientific sessions and workshops focusing on governance in managing social projects, qualifying local competencies, and valuing successful experiences in development. The organizers aim to make this meeting an annual platform to enhance the role of social work in public policies and deepen the discussion on intervention tools to support human development.
