Saudi Arabia Hosts 1,000 Palestinian Pilgrims

His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered the hosting of 1,000 male and female pilgrims from the families of “martyrs,” prisoners, and the wounded among the Palestinian people at his own expense, to perform the Hajj rituals this year.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Monday, this initiative is part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ program for Hajj, Umrah, and visitation, which is implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.

The Minister of Islamic Affairs and Supervisor General of the Guests of the “Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques” program for Hajj, Umrah, and visitation, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, confirmed that “this kind gesture reflects the Kingdom’s interest and constant commitment to support the Palestinian people and strengthen the bonds of Islamic brotherhood.”

Al Sheikh added that “this hosting is in line with the leadership’s concern to facilitate the Hajj rituals for the Palestinian people,” noting that the ministry promptly began to develop a comprehensive executive plan to provide facilities and services to the Palestinian pilgrims, from their departure from their homeland until their return after completing the rituals, under an integrated system during their stay in Mecca and Medina.

He further explained that the program has hosted more than 64,000 male and female pilgrims from various countries since its inception in 1996, which reflects the ongoing efforts of the Kingdom’s leadership in serving Islam and Muslims.
