RAM Launches a New Direct Flight Route Connecting Casablanca to the Italian City of Catania

Royal Air Maroc Launches Direct Flight Route from Casablanca to Catania, Italy

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced today, Monday, the launch of a new direct flight connecting Casablanca to the Sicilian city of Catania, starting June 28, 2025.

In a statement, RAM indicated that the new route will operate with “two flights per week (on Mondays and Saturdays) using Boeing 737 aircraft.” The flights will depart from Casablanca at 3:20 PM (local time) and arrive in Catania at 7:40 PM (local time). Return flights will leave Catania at 8:40 PM (local time) and land in Casablanca at 11:35 PM (local time).

The announcement noted that with the opening of the Casablanca-Catania route, Royal Air Maroc has strengthened its network within Italy to seven destinations from Casablanca, alongside Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin, Venice, and Naples.

The new flight route aims to meet the growing and urgent needs of numerous customers, including the Moroccan and African communities residing in Italy, as well as Italian tourists looking to discover Morocco’s cultural and natural wealth, in addition to facilitating transit passengers heading to other international destinations via Royal Air Maroc’s Casablanca hub.

In this context, the CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Hamid Addou, stated that “the launch of the Casablanca-Catania flight marks the beginning of a pivotal phase in our development strategy and our determination to enhance our presence in Italy, particularly in the south of the country. This route will respond to the expectations of our citizens living in Sicily and will provide excellent opportunities for both African and Italian travelers.”

He added, “Moreover, in addition to boosting tourism flows between Italy and Morocco, this new flight will address the increasing connectivity needs of travelers, offering a higher quality experience on our flights, in line with our ongoing efforts to improve customer experience and satisfaction. Finally, the Casablanca-Catania route is part of a series of new routes that will be launched in the near future to facilitate travel for Moroccans living abroad, particularly through Casablanca Airport and various airports in northern Morocco.”

With 45 weekly flights scheduled to Italy, RAM has reaffirmed its commitment to offering flexible travel solutions tailored to the needs of its passengers, particularly targeting the Moroccan and African communities residing in Italy.

This new flight route underscores the national airline’s commitment to continue enhancing its presence in the Italian market and solidifying Casablanca’s role as a strategic airport hub connecting Europe and Africa.

According to the announcement, tickets for these flights are available for purchase on the Royal Air Maroc website (www.royalairmaroc.ma), via the company’s call centers, commercial agencies, and travel agency networks.
