Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi Launches Educational and Cultural Initiatives Alongside the Rabat Book Fair

In a continued effort to promote a culture of reading, the “Kalimāt” Foundation conducted a field visit to the “Asas” Association in Ifrane, where it introduced several initiatives aimed at enhancing education and reading interaction among children. The initiative included the donation of a mobile library containing 100 books for children, along with a reading session for the book “Famous by Chance,” published by “Kalimāt Group,” followed by a workshop where children creatively crafted fashion designs representing the book’s characters.

In a move reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to developing the educational environment, “Kalimāt” refurbished and renewed the association’s library and provided it with ten tablets to support digital interaction in education, thereby enhancing the quality of sustainable learning and keeping pace with technological advancements.

Mobile Libraries and Distribution of 200 Additional Books

During the same visit, the Foundation presented two mobile libraries, one to the “Schools of Oulja Al-Sultan” group and the other to the “Development Schools” group, along with 200 books for children who won the “Reading Network in Morocco” awards. This initiative, among the key projects aimed at fostering a love for reading in Morocco, contributes to encouraging children to expand their knowledge and develop their individual and collective potential.

Support from Emirati Artist Mohammed Al Mansouri

It is noted that these initiatives were supported by the proceeds from the sale of products in collaboration with Emirati artist Mohammed Al Mansouri, who is the first ambassador for the “Kalimāt” Foundation. A portion of the proceeds from these products was allocated to fund the “Adopt a Library” initiative in the Kingdom of Morocco, which aims to provide mobile libraries and support educational institutions in various regions.

Strategic Vision and Noble Goal

These activities are part of “Kalimāt” Foundation’s strategy aimed at enhancing access for underprivileged children to sources of knowledge, whether in remote areas or facing challenging economic conditions. The Foundation, which has distributed thousands of books and implemented quality initiatives in dozens of countries, emphasizes that reading is a fundamental right of every child and a tool that contributes to building individuals and communities.

Rashida Raqi, head of the Reading Network in Morocco, expressed her deep appreciation for this initiative, affirming that what “Kalimāt” has provided reflects a genuine commitment to making reading accessible to all, and that these initiatives serve as a model of joint Arab cultural work that connects reading with daily life.
