Thursday Weather Forecast: What to Expect

Thursday Weather Forecast: What to Expect
A A

As Morocco braces for another scorching Thursday, the national weather agency warns of persistent high temperatures across the desert regions and southeastern areas. The heat is set to extend to the interior northern and central plains, signaling a challenging day for many inhabitants.

Continuing Heat Wave

According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, the day will witness sustained warm conditions in the country’s arid territories and southeastern regions. Meanwhile, mildly hot weather is anticipated in the northern and central interior plains, the Saïss region, the eastern part of the country, and in valleys within Souss.

Low Clouds and Light Rain

Locally, the morning and evening hours could bring low-lying clouds along the Atlantic coast and the Mediterranean shores. These cloud formations may be accompanied by patches of fog or sporadic drizzle in certain areas, offering little solace from the oppressive heat.

Windy Conditions and Dust

Forecasts indicate sporadic gusts of wind, particularly in the southern provinces, central regions, the Atlas Mountains, the southeast, and the eastern area. These winds may stir up local dust, exacerbating the already challenging weather conditions.

Temperature Variations

Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 27°C and 32°C in the eastern desert areas, the small Atlas, and the southeast, while the range will drop to 15°C to 22°C in the Atlas Mountains, eastern regions, northern coastal plains, and Mediterranean shoreline. Other parts of the kingdom will see temperatures between 22°C and 27°C.

During the day, slight temperature increases are projected for the eastern regions, the southeast, and the southernmost areas, while cooler conditions will prevail elsewhere. Meanwhile, the sea will maintain a calm to slightly agitated state along the Mediterranean coast, in the Strait of Gibraltar, and the northern region of Boujdour, with rougher waters anticipated south of Boujdour.
