As the clock ticks toward the late-night Friday-Saturday reveal of the resit examination results for Morocco’s national baccalaureate, thousands of candidates and their families await the outcome. The Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports has completed all necessary preparations for this pivotal moment.
Final Preparations Underway
On Friday, regional education and training academies convened for deliberation meetings following the completion of exam paper corrections and data verification. The results of the nationwide resit, which took place on July 2, 3, and 4, involved 163,179 candidates, and the exams were conducted under standard conditions. Educational and administrative staff, along with essential logistical resources, were mobilized to ensure the smooth progression of the examination process.
A Second Chance for Candidates
The resit holds significant importance for candidates who did not succeed in the initial round, presenting a crucial second opportunity to secure their baccalaureate certification. This certification is vital for pursuing further academic studies or enrolling in vocational training institutions. In the regular examination cycle, 262,442 students, including 154,881 females, successfully passed, resulting in an overall pass rate of 59 percent.
Success Rates and Oversight
Earlier this year, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports Mohamed Saad Berada reported to the House of Councillors that pass rates were notably higher in specific streams, with 73 percent in the literary track, 63 percent in scientific paths, and 69 percent in vocational programs. The grading process itself involved about 3.3 million examined papers, overseen by 31,622 markers and 283 officials ensuring quality control throughout the correction procedures.
