The International University of Rabat is set to host the national final of the Francophone competition “My Thesis in 180 Seconds – 2026 Edition” on Tuesday. This event, organized in collaboration with the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research and Mohammed V University, aims to showcase the research efforts of aspiring doctoral candidates from across Morocco.
Showcasing Academic Talent
According to the organizers, 28 doctoral students from various Moroccan universities and disciplines will compete to present simplified versions of their thesis research in under three minutes. The aim is to engage a non-specialist audience and demonstrate their ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively.
A Competitive Edge
The final will feature a jury that awards three prizes based on merit, alongside a special audience award. These accolades not only recognize individual talent but also encourage the participants to convey their research to a broader public, an increasingly vital skill in the modern academic landscape.
Representing Morocco on Global Stage
The recipient of the jury’s first prize will have the honor of representing Morocco in the international finals of the competition, scheduled for October. This opportunity not only elevates the winner’s profile but also underscores Morocco’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and scientific communication.
