El Jadida Gears Up for 17th Royal Horse Exhibition

El Jadida Gears Up for 17th Royal Horse Exhibition
A A

The city of El Jadida is preparing to host the 17th edition of the El Jadida Horse Exhibition under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI from October 13 to 18, 2026. This prominent event, organized by the El Jadida Horse Exhibition Association under the theme “The Horse in Service of Humanity,” stands as one of the key national and international equestrian gatherings.

A Proven Tradition of Excellence

Since its inception in 2008, the El Jadida Horse Exhibition has consolidated its status as a premier annual event on both national and international stages. Continuous improvements in its infrastructure, organization, and service quality have contributed to its growing recognition among professionals, cultural figures, and sports enthusiasts in the equestrian world.

The exhibition serves as a crucial platform, bringing together breeders, riders, artisans, researchers, institutions, and professionals, as well as a broad public audience. This cooperation enhances the national equestrian sector’s profile while fostering its development and the appreciation of its diverse components.

Emphasizing the Historic Bond

This edition’s theme, “The Horse in Service of Humanity,” reflects the deep-rooted historical relationship between humans and horses, emphasizing the horse as a partner in labor, a symbol of heritage, and a catalyst for sports, culture, and entertainment. It also underscores the human responsibility to ensure the welfare and dignity of horses while highlighting their economic, social, and cultural roles in society.

International Recognition and Competitions

The 2026 exhibition marks a significant milestone in its international outreach, with the upgrade of the Grand Prize of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for show jumping to a five-star classification within the World Cup qualifiers (CSI5*-W). Additionally, one international competition will be elevated from one star (CSI1*) to two stars (CSI2*), elevating the exhibition’s profile in the global equestrian calendar and providing Moroccan riders with a more open and professional competitive arena.

Moreover, Moroccan traditional equestrianism will play a prominent role in the program through the Grand Prize for Boujaâd, showcasing the finest horse-groups representing different regions of the kingdom. This competition embodies traditional equestrian skills, collective harmony, technical precision, and the rich Moroccan cultural heritage.

A Comprehensive Cultural Program

The exhibition will not only focus on sporting events but will also feature an integrated cultural and scientific program that includes seminars and discussions on equestrian issues, heritage conservation, and the evolving practices surrounding horses in society. This enhances the exhibition’s role as a space for dialogue and knowledge exchange.

Additionally, the event will provide the various regions of the kingdom with an opportunity to showcase their unique cultural traits, local products, and traditional skills, aligning with a vision that connects heritage preservation with local development, rural economy enhancement, and promotion of professions linked to the equestrian realm.

Nurturing Future Generations

The 17th edition will pay special attention to children and youth through a comprehensive educational program featuring workshops, activities, demonstrations, and discovery areas aimed at introducing younger generations to the world of horses and their professions, thereby deepening their connection to this rich cultural heritage.

The El Jadida Horse Exhibition Association, led by Sharif Moulay Abdallah Al-Alawi, continues its commitment to promoting the equestrian sector, valuing horse-related professions, and preserving the associated Moroccan cultural heritage. This vision aims to make the exhibition a bridge blending tradition and modernization.

The 2026 edition, set to take place from October 13 to 18 in El Jadida, is expected to reaffirm the exhibition’s position as one of the foremost international equestrian events, serving as a vital link between heritage, sports, culture, and development, and solidifying the horse’s role as a connector among generations, regions, and expertise.
