From July 23 to 25, the town of Ain Louh, located in the Ifrane region of Morocco, will host the 25th edition of the National Aḥidus Festival. This year, the event features around 40 folkloric troupes showcasing the rich diversity of this essential aspect of Moroccan cultural heritage.
Celebrating Cultural Heritage
The festival is organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication in collaboration with various local entities, including the Thaimat Association for Atlas Arts and the Ifrane provincial council. It aims to celebrate Aḥidus, a form of traditional Moroccan music and dance, recognized as a vital component of the country’s intangible cultural heritage.
Diverse Artistic Offerings
Attendees can look forward to a variety of performances from troupes representing different regions of Morocco. These acts will highlight the artistic complexity and emotional depth that characterize the ancient Amazigh art form. Besides the performances, there will be celebratory segments that illuminate the cultural values inherent in Aḥidus.
