A taxi driver in Morocco’s city of Ksar al-Kabir has been arrested for allegedly stealing a handbag left behind by a passenger, raising concerns about trust and security in the transportation sector. The situation unfolded last Thursday evening when a 70-year-old dual national, holding both Moroccan and Dutch citizenship, exited a taxi in the “Qilla” area. It didn’t take long for him to realize that his personal bag, containing not just a significant sum of money but also essential documents and medication, had been left behind in the vehicle.
Contents of the Bag
The lost handbag held approximately €6,500, a passport, important administrative documents, and diabetes medication required by the victim for his medical condition. The realization of this oversight compelled the man to file a complaint at the local police precinct shortly thereafter.

In response to the complaint, law enforcement swiftly launched an investigation that included both fieldwork and technical analysis. Within a short period, they were able to identify and detain the taxi driver suspected of the crime.
Recovery and Legal Proceedings
