The National Authority for Integrity and Prevention of Corruption has selected 25 teams to participate in the inaugural “NazaTHON,” a hackathon aimed at fostering innovation and developing digital solutions to enhance transparency and promote good governance. This initiative marks a significant step towards engaging diverse stakeholders in the fight against corruption.

Forging Integrity Through Innovation

As the call for submissions opened from April 20 to May 17, 2026, a total of 128 proposals were received, showcasing significant interest in leveraging technology for integrity and transparency challenges. The selected teams reflect a variety of sectors, featuring 14 from governance bodies, 7 from universities and higher education institutions, and 4 from civil society organizations and clubs.

Engagement and Evaluation Process

A specialized committee undertook the evaluation of the submissions, applying rigorous criteria that encompass idea feasibility, expected impact, degree of innovation, and team composition. The threshold for selection was set at 80 out of 100, ensuring that only the most promising projects moved forward to the next stage. Notably, 108 proposals were initially accepted, with 20 excluded due to non-compliance with the criteria, including 17 for failing to meet the necessary conditions and 3 submitted past the deadline.

Upcoming Training and Final Event

The selected teams will receive formal invitations in the coming days for a remote training phase scheduled between June 8 and June 24. This will be followed by an in-person event in Rabat on June 29 and 30, culminating in an awards ceremony on July 1, 2026, to celebrate the winners.

Promoting Future Innovation

The authority also acknowledged several projects that, while not selected, scored between 70 and 79 points for their innovative ideas and potential. They are encouraged to further develop their projects for future editions of NazaTHON. The initiative aims to serve as a national platform to cultivate digital solutions that promote integrity and foster a stronger culture of anti-corruption.
